Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University (EKU) is a major public multidisciplinary university located in Ust-Kamenogorsk (Oskemen), the capital of the East Kazakhstan Region. Founded on July 5, 1952, as a pedagogical institute, it was transformed into a full university in 1991 and named after the prominent linguist and Turkologist Sarsen Amanzholov in 2003. The university is organized into four Higher Schools: Pedagogy; Humanities; Business and Law; IT and Natural Sciences, plus a Higher College. It offers over 60 bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs spanning education, humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, IT, engineering, agriculture, and law. EKU is an active member of the Eurasian Association of Universities and was included in the list of 600 world university leaders under the Magna Charta Universitatum in 2009. The university has international partnerships and participates in Erasmus+, Bolashak, and ORHUN academic mobility programs. It has an enrollment of approximately 5,000–7,000 students and holds institutional accreditation from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan.
