The Kazakh National Agrarian Research University (KazNARU) is Kazakhstan's leading agrarian research institution, established in 1996 through the merger of the Alma-Ata Zoo-Veterinary Institute and the Kazakh Agricultural Institute. In 2020, it was elevated to national research university status. KazNARU is home to approximately 7,000 students across 6 faculties and operates 4 research institutes and 9 laboratories through its International Agrotechnological Hub. The university developed two COVID-19 vaccine candidates (NARUVAX-C19) and maintains partnerships with 140 universities worldwide, benchmarking its development against Wageningen University.
