Satbayev University

Satbayev University (officially: Kazakh National Research Technical University named after K.I. Satbayev) is the oldest and most prestigious technical university in Kazakhstan, founded in 1934. For over 90 years, it has been synonymous with technological progress and engineering leadership in the country, and is recognized as Kazakhstan's No. 1 Technical University according to national IQAA ratings. The university is ranked #331 in the QS World University Rankings 2026 and ranks 50–101st in the QS Subject Rankings for Petroleum Engineering. It holds National Research University status, awarded in 2014, which enables collaboration with outstanding scientists worldwide. The university comprises 9 specialized institutes and serves more than 8,000 students, offering instruction in Kazakh, Russian, and English across engineering, architecture, IT, and management.
