7 availableDAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) offers two types of financial support for DKU students: 1. DAAD Tuition Grants — cover up to 50% of tuition fees, awarded to DKU Bachelor's and Master's students with strong academic performance, as well as to international students (those who are citizens of another country and completed school or university abroad). 2. Living Stipends — awarded to out-of-town and international Bachelor's and Master's students with strong academic performance who live more than 35 km from Almaty. Grants are awarded for one academic year and must be reapplied for annually. Results are announced in late August. Distribution of German nationality grants takes place in October/November.
Approximately 40% of DKU students (Bachelor's and Master's) receive internal grants or scholarships annually from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) or the German Federal Ministry of the Interior. Grants are awarded on a competitive basis by the Scholarship Committee. Results are announced at the end of August.
The State Educational Grant is a fully funded scholarship provided by the Government of Kazakhstan that covers 100% of tuition fees. To be eligible, applicants must pass the Unified National Testing (UNT) and meet the minimum score threshold for their chosen field of study. For 2025–2026, over 77,000 grants have been allocated nationwide for Bachelor's programs. Applications are submitted through the university admissions office or online via the eGov.kz portal between July 13–20. Grant recipients are selected on a competitive basis according to UNT scores.
